PM Modi today addressed to the Nation at 8:00 p.m. urging the residents of the country to support the Self Imposed Public Curfew being imposed on 22nd March, this Sunday. The Curfew has been imposed seeing the continusely spreading Corona Virus in the country. PM urged the residents of the country to follow the practice of social distancing and only step out of the houses if very important.
According to the Health Ministry, the virus has caused 4 lives across the country and 173 confirmed infected people. News of more and more people getting infected come as we keep on talking about the virus. There were rumours in the country since morning that PM Modi could impose a complete lockdown in the country in “PM Modi’s Address to the Nation” which was later cleared by the Ministry that no such lockdown was going to be announced. Panic was seen in various parts of the country after the rumours about complete lockdown spread in many parts of the country.
Key messages on PM Modi’s Address to the Nation:
- PM Modi urged all the citizens of the country to stay off the roads and public places on Sunday (March 22)
- The Janata Curfew on Sunday will start at 7 am and continue till 9 pm.
- People working in essential services such as police, medical services, media, home delivery, fire fighting etc will remain exempt from the Janata Curfew.
- At 5 pm, all the citizens are requested to encourage the people working in essential services, working in the times of coronavirus, by clapping and ringing their bells.
- PM Modi said, “If possible, please call at least 10 people every day and tell them about the ‘Janta Curfew’ as well as the measures to prevent.”
COVID-19 if spread in the country can leave a very horrifying impact on the Country that can’t be imagined at all.
“This Crisis has engulfed the entire Human Race. For the past two months, we have been watching with concern the news about the virus spreading in the country” Says PM Modi in his address to the nation. At this time, all non urgent outings should be avoided. It should not be felt that we are okay and the virus won’t affect us. Public should only go out if very necessary.
PM Modi has also urged people to call at least 10 people every day and inform them about the self imposed curfew as well as the measures to prevent the virus. PM also urged not to visit the hospitals for general checkups and avoid surgeries if not important in order to prevent the pressure on hospitals. PM also appreciated the efforts of people working in hospitals, airports and public transports who are serving others day and night by not taking care of themselves.
Prime Minister has appealed to the business houses and affluent class to keep in mind the economic interests of people working under them and pay them full salary despite of the leaves taken due to COVID-19 spread.
India has registered 22 new cases of Corona Virus today and registered 4 deaths, one each from Delhi, Karnataka, Punjab and Maharashtra. Since the time PM announced “Janta Curfew”, millions of Indians including influential people are supporting his move. The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) supporting the move said that it will support the move and take part in the curfew. A final decision on this will be taken tomorrow by CAIT by taking consultation with State leaders of the union.
A task force has also been setup to address the Corona Virus issue. The economic response task force will be headed by our Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman who has also supported the PM’s Move on twitter.
