We reported earlier that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Peugept S.A. entered into a 50:50 partnership. The JV has now announced that the corporate name of the new group will be STELLANTIS.
Stellantis is rooted in the Latin verb āstelloā, which means āto brighten with starsā. According the Group, āthe nameās Latin origins pay tribute to the rich history of its founding companies while the evocation of astronomy captures the true spirit of optimism, energy and renewal driving this industry-changing mergerā.

The name Stellantis will be used exclusively as a corporate brand name. The next step in the process will be the unveiling of a logo that with the name will become the corporate brand identity. The names and the logos of the Groupās constituent brands will remain unchanged.As previously stated, completion of the merger project is expected to occur in the first quarter of 2021, subject to customary closing conditions, including approval by both companiesā shareholders at their respective Extraordinary General Meetings and the satisfaction of antitrust and other regulatory requirements.
The Competition Commission of India has recently approved the proposed merger between Peugeot SA (Groupe PSA) and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. The PSA Groupe comprises of brands including Peugeot, Citroen, Opel, Vauxhall and DS.FCA (Fiat Chrylser Automotive), headquarted in London, is a automotive group engaged in designing, engineering, manufacturing, distributing and selling vehicles, components and production systems. Both automakers have presence in our market. The new merger has been approved by CCI to sale passenger vehicles and powertrains in India.
