Why Google Is Not Showing April Fool’s Joke: April 1

Why Google is not showing April fool’s joke you might be worried as Google has tradition on every April Fool’s Day (April 1) for its numerous elaborate pranks as Google frequently insert jokes into every major products, but this time things will be different as Google won’t be participating due to current pandemic world-wide.

According to internal mail from Google’s head of marketing Lorraine Twohill reveals  “Google will take the year off from that tradition out of respect for all those fighting the Covid-19 pandemic. Our highest goal right now is to be helpful to people, so let’s save the jokes for next April, which will undoubtedly be a whole lot brighter than this one.”

“We’ve already stopped any centralized April Fool’s efforts but realize there may be smaller projects within teams that we don’t know about, please suss out those efforts and make sure your teams pause on any jokes they may have planned — internally or externally.”

Without any doubt, Google decision is wise here to focus on helping fight COVID-19 instead of jokes. There’s a time and a place for a good joke, but this probably isn’t it.

So far, 668,368 cases world-wide and In India 987 cases with thousands of people died globally.

Like many companies, Google delayed chrome updates for a while and most of employees are working from home. Other brands are expected to drop this year April Fools’ day plan.
